Date Announcement
08-Sep-2021 Maruti Suzuki India achieved total production of 113,937 units in month of August 2021 compared to 123,769 units in August 2020. Production volume of the company in August 2021 was affected due to electronic components shortage.
06-Sep-2021 Maruti Suzuki India announced a price change for select models owing to increase in various input costs. The weighted average price increase in Ex Showroom Prices (Delhi) across select models is 1.9%. The price change is with effect from 06 September 2021.
03-Sep-2021 Maruti Suzuki India today announced to proactively undertake a recall of some petrol variants of Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and XL6. This is to inspect for a possible defect in 181,754 units of these models manufactured between 4 May 2018 to 27 October 2020. Recall campaigns are undertaken globally to rectify faults that may be potential safety defects. In the interest of customers, Maruti Suzuki has decided to voluntarily recall the affected vehicles for inspection/replacement of Motor Generator Unit, free of cost. Affected vehicle owners would be receiving a communication from Maruti Suzuki authorized workshops. The replacement of the affected part shall start from the first week of November 2021. Till then, customers are requested to avoid driving in water logged areas and direct water spray on electrical/electronic parts in vehicle.
01-Sep-2021 Maruti Suzuki India posted total sales of 130,699 units in month of August 2021 compared to 124,624 units in August 2020. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 105,775 units, sales to other OEM of 4,305 units and exports of 20,619 units. Sales volume of the Company in August 2021 was affected due to electronic components shortage. The company took all possible measures to limit the adverse impact. While the sales volume in August 2021 was affected due to electronic components shortage, the sales volume in August 2020 was impacted due to COVID-19 related disruptions.
31-Aug-2021 Maruti Suzuki India announced that owing to a supply constraint of electronic components due to the semiconductor shortage situation, the Company is expecting an adverse impact on vehicle production in the month of September in both Haryana and its contract manufacturing company, Suzuki Motor Gujarat (SMG) in Gujarat. Though the situation is quite dynamic, it is currently estimated that the total vehicle production volume across both locations could be around 40% of normal production.
30-Aug-2021 Maruti Suzuki India announced that over the past year the cost of Company's vehicles continue to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative to pass on some impact of the additional cost to the customers through a price rise. The price rise has been planned across models in September 2021.
24-Aug-2021 Maruti Suzuki India announced that the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has passed an order on 23 August 2021 for the alleged contravention of Section 3 of the Competition Act, 2002 against the Company in relation to implementing discount control policy vis-a-vis its dealers and has imposed a penalty for an amount of Rs 200 crore on the Company.
05-Aug-2021 Maruti Suzuki India has achieved total production of 170,719 units in month of July 2021 compared to 107,687 units in July 2020. While the number of vehicles manufactured in July 2021 is higher than that of July 2020, a comparison is not meaningful because July 2020 had a much lower base due to pandemic related disruptions. The number of vehicles manufactured in July 2021 remained below that in July 2018.
04-Aug-2021 Maruti Suzuki India announced that owing to the semiconductor shortage situation, the Company has been informed by its contract manufacturing company, Suzuki Motor Gujarat (SMG), that production will be partially impacted in this month. SMG will tentatively not carry out production on the three Saturdays (7th, 14th and 21st August). In addition, some of the production lines may see temporary reduction from 2-shift to 1-shift working.
02-Aug-2021 Maruti Suzuki India has sold 162,462 units in month of July 2021 compared to 108,064 units in July 2020. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 136,500 units, sales to other OEM of 4,738 units and exports of 21,224 units. While the domestic sales in July 2021 is better than that of July'20, a comparison is not meaningful because July 2020 had a much lower base due to pandemic related disruptions.
