Hero Motocorp appoints Niranjan Gupta as CEO

The two-wheeler major's board has appointed Niranjan Gupta as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the company with effect from 1 May 2023.

Niranjan has been elevated from his current position as chief financial officer (CFO), head - strategy and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Niranjan has more than 25 years of rich leadership experience in finance, mergers & acquisition, supply chain and strategy roles across business sectors including consumer goods, metals & mining, and automobiles. He has also played a significant role in forging key partnerships with global brands such as Harley Davidson and Zero Motorcycles. Niranjan also serves as a director on the board of Ather Energy, HMC MM Auto Private, and HMCL Colombia. Prior to Hero MotoCorp, Niranjan spent three years at Vedanta and 20 years in Unilever across global roles.
Dr. Pawan Munjal will continue as executive chairman and whole-time director on the board.

Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters.
The company's net profit rose 4% to Rs 711 crore on a 2% increase in revenues to Rs 8,031 crore in Q3 FY23 over Q3 FY22.
The scrip rose 0.97% to Rs 2,325.60 on the BSE.
