IRCON International bags EPC contract valued at Rs 1,068 crore from East Central Railway

IRCON International said that it has received an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract from the East Central Railway, Indian Railway, worth Rs 1,068.34 crore.


The contract is for the construction of a new double-line substructure and single-line superstructure BG (broad gauge) rail bridge across the River Ganga, between Bikramshila and Katareah Stations, as part of a new railway line project. This bridge will feature 2x32.086m and 33x122.0m open web steel girders.

The project has to be completed within a period of 1460 days.

Ircon International is a public sector construction company with an emphasis on infrastructure projects, with a specialization in the execution of railway projects on a turnkey basis and otherwise. After commencing business as a railway construction company, it diversified progressively to roads, buildings, electrical substations and distribution, airport construction, commercial complexes, as well as metro rail works.

The scrip had declined 1.04% to end at Rs 190.80 on the BSE on Friday.
