Axis Bank

Expects to grow faster than the industry in FY2026 and in the medium term


'Axis Bank conducted a conference call on 17 July 2025 to discuss the financial results for the quarter ended June 2025. Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO of the bank addressed the call:

Highlights:

The bank has delivered steady operating performance aided by higher non-interest income and continued moderation in operating expenses. Operating profit for Q1FY2026 was up 14% yoy and 7% qoq.

The Bank’s balance sheet is resilient, and the capital position continues to remain strong. The focus has been on profitable and sustainable growth.

Non-interest income grew 25% yoy and fee to average assets continues to be the best amongst peer private banks.

Deposits grew 9% at the end June 2025.

On the lending side, small business, SME and mid-corporate together, grew at 18% yoy and 5% qoq and constituted 23% of total bank loans.

The Bank remains well capitalized with a CET 1 ratio of 14.68%.
