Company expects overall steel volumes of 0.8 million tonnes in FY2025

Shankara Building Products hosted a conference call on November 05, 2024. In the conference call the company was represented by Mr Sukumar Srinivas-Managing Director, Mr C Ravikumar-Director,  Mr Alex Varghese –CFO and Mr Dhananjay Mirlay-Vice President.

Key takeaways of the call

Revenues:

Despite macroeconomic challenges on account of election, severe rainfall and soft steel prices, the performance of the company was resilient.

Q2FY2025:

Revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 1329 crore a growth of 16% YoY.

EBITDA margin was at 2.82%. EBITDA margin was impacted in Q2 due to one time write off to the tune of Rs 12 crore in inventory due to decline in prices. Also margins were impacted due to higher marketing and advertisement cost.

Interest cost declined by Rs 2.5 crore in Q2FY2025 over Q1FY2025.

H1FY2025

Revenues grew by 15% YoY to Rs 2620 ...
