India's soda ash demand is poised for 6% CAGR growth from FY25-30, outpacing GDP, driven by robust expansion in soaps & detergents, glass, pulp & paper, and textiles—sectors growing ahead of the economy.

India projected to be one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world with a GDP forecast of 6%+ in the next few years. Domestic Soda Ash demand is expected to grow at 6% CAGR from FY25-30.

There are assured growth opportunities for soda ash. Soaps & Detergents, Glass Manufacturing, Pulp & Paper Manufacturing and Textiles Industry are all growing ahead of GDP growth. Historically, Sodium Bicarbonate is growing at the rate of GDP rate of growth, potential to accelerate, subject to regulation changes on flue gas treatment for thermal plants. These account for more than 70% of consumption. Solar Glass and Lithium Extraction has high growth potential for new categories. Chemicals, Water Treatment, Non-Ferrous Metallurgy, Mining have the potential to significantly surpass GDP growth.
