Shanthi Gears

Net up 5% despite lower sales


'Standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Shanthi Gears has declined 2.83% to Rs 134.89 crore.  Operating profit margin has jumped from 20.64% to 22.62%, leading to 6.49% rise in operating profit to Rs 30.51 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 51.20% to 45.97%.   Employee cost increased from 12.84% to 14.23%.   Other expenses rose from 17.18% to 17.36%.   

Other income up 11.21% to Rs 3.77 crore.  PBIDT rose 6.99% to Rs 34.28 crore.  Provision for interest remained nil.  

PBDT rose 6.99% to Rs 34.28 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 18.45% to Rs 3.66 crore.  

Profit before tax grew 5.77% to Rs 30.62 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 7.93 crore, compared to Rs 7.29 crore.  Effective tax rate was 25.90% compared to 25.18%.

Profit after tax rose 4.76% to Rs 22.69 ...
