Commodities Buzz: US average daily Zinc production up 4% on year in Feb-25


According to a latest update from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the US domestic mine production (recoverable) of zinc in February 2025 was estimated to be 56,400 metric tons (t). Average daily (recoverable) mine production in February was an estimated 2,010 t, 10% more compared with that in the previous month and 4% more compared with that in February 2024. The monthly average LME cash price in February 2025 was $2,799.23 per metric ton (126.97 cents per pound), compared with $2,824.82 per metric ton (128.13 cents per pound) in the previous month; the price was 18% more than that in February 2024. The monthly average North American premium to the LME cash price in February 2025 was 18.4 cents per pound, 3% more compared with 17.8 cents per pound in the previous month but 4% less than that in February 2024.
