Economic Buzz: German consumer mood dips as savings jump

Germany’s GfK Consumer Climate Index slipped to -20.3 for July 2025, down from -20.0 in June, marking its first decline in four months. The drop came as saving appetite surged to its highest since April 2024, while buying sentiment remained weak amid ongoing concerns over unpredictable US trade and customs policies.
