Japan's unemployment rate rose to 2.6% in September, its highest level since July 2024, according to Friday's report by the nation's Statistics Bureau. 
The number is the same as last month's jobless rate of 2.6%. 
The job-to-applicant ratio stayed at 1.20 in September, the same as last month's, meaning there were 120 job openings for every 100 job seekers.
