US Soybean futures approach seven-week high as market eyes broad supply trends

The US soybean futures are in a good nick as market continues to eye the US supply shortfall. Chicago soybean futures rose today after correcting in last session as uptick resumed and pushed the counter near seven-week high. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has forecast a much smaller harvest than previously expected as it cut its estimate of the area planted to soybeans in the United States. Soybean futures are quoting at $10.54 per bushel right now, up 0.60% on the day after a 1% fall in last session. Meanwhile, India’s oilseeds acreage is also lower. As of 15 August 2025, kharif oilseed sowing stands at 178.64 lakh hectares, down 6.74 lakh ha from last year’s final acreage of 185.38 lakh ha- a drop of 3.63%.
