Base Metals Preview: COMEX copper rebounds from three-week low

COMEX copper added gains by nearly 1% in early Asia on Tuesday tracking dollar retreat and slightly positive cues from overnight equities. The major averages on Wall Street climbed well off their worst levels and into positive territory, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq leading the recover. The Nasdaq jumped 308.27 points or 1.4 percent to 22,695.95, the S&P 500 advanced 55.96 points or 0.8 percent to 6,795.99 and the Dow climbed 239.25 points or 0.5 percent to 47,740.80. Meanwhile, dollar index remained below 99 as hopes for a swift end to the Iran war reduced safe-haven demand for the currency. The red metal is currently quoting higher by 0.95% on the day at $5.90 per pound, coming off three week low registered in previous session.
