Energy Preview: US oil rig count falls by eight

The oil rig count in the US fell by 8 last week, according to the latest data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes on Friday. The number of oil rigs, an indicator of short-term production in the country, fell to 406 for the week ending Dec. 19.The number of US oil rigs fell by 77 compared to one year ago.
