Copper down around 1% this week

COMEX Copper futures are lingering around $4.60 per pound today as largely steady cues from equities supported the metal. Prices are off one-week low but are still down around 1% for the week. Meanwhile, in Asia, China's Shanghai Composite index eased 0.30%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index ended flat. Japan’s Nikkei index fell 0.57%. European stocks stayed supported after good gains in last session. US stocks reaching new record closing highs. The tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 0.9 percent, the S&P 500 soared 0.5 percent while the Dow rose 0.3 percent. Copper had hit a seven-week high earlier in the week but a hefty correction has been seen in the counter thereafter.
