Copper up half percent amid gains in European equities


COMEX Copper futures are witnessing modest gains but stay in choppy range on the whole. The counter tested around one-week low of $4.64 per pound and currently trades at $4.69 per pound, up half a percent on the day with gains in European equities pushing up the metal. Meanwhile, China's Shanghai Composite index eased 0.47% while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index lost 1.20%. Japanese NIKEEI index fell more than a percent after recent gains. European indices rose around half a percent. The US stocks saw sideways movement yesterday, keeping Copper muted. The Dow added 0.3% on the day. On the MCX, Copper futures are trading at Rs 865.25 per kg, up 0.35% on the day.
