Bond yields move in tight range amid volatile crude oil prices

Indian bond yield saw tight activity today after hitting near six-week high last week. The 10-year bond yield hovers around 6.53% now. India’s fiscal deficit for April-September 2025 stood at Rs 5.73 trillion, accounting for 36.5% of the budget estimate for the current financial year (FY26). In the first half of the previous fiscal year, the deficit was 29.4% of the budgeted target. During April–September 2025, net tax revenue stood at Rs 12.30 trillion, or 43.3% of the annual target set in the budget in February, compared with Rs 12.65 trillion in the same period last year, data from the comptroller and auditor general (CGA) showed. A volatile undertone in WTI Crude oil futures weighed on the market mood as the oil prices hit one-week high before correcting.
