US 10-year Treasury yield hovers around 4.40% ahead of Fed, key inflation data also in focus

The US Treasury yields inched up on Monday as investors focussed on the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision later on Wednesday as well as a key inflation reading that will shed light on the effect of tariffs on the economy. The 10-year Treasury yield moved up above 4.40% mark and currently hovers around the same level. Market has been choppy after easing of trade tensions as the US and European Union have worked out a tentative trade agreement that includes 15% tariffs on EU goods imported into the US, down from a previously proposed 30% charge. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve’s preferred measure of inflation, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index, has been inching higher recently and could weigh on the Fed’s monetary policy action this week.
