US 10-year yield slides to five-month low, PPI records first monthly slide since Apr-25

The US treasury prices edged up following the pullback seen on Tuesday as a tepid reading on inflation front weighed on the market. The yield on the benchmark ten-year note, which moves opposite of its price, fell 4.2 basis points to a five-month closing low of 4.03%. The US producer price index or PPI fell by 0.1% in August after rising by a downwardly revised 0.7% in July. This is the first monthly negative reading for PPI after April. The annual rate of producer price growth also slowed to 2.6% in August from a downwardly revised 3.1% in July. Market is now focussing on consumer price inflation due to come out later in the evening.
