Newly added F&O stocks see strong buying on debut day

Shares of eight companies saw strong buying interest after their inclusion in the NSE's futures and options segment, with trading commencing from 1 April 2026.


Cochin Shipyard led the gains, rising 13.67%, followed by Motilal Oswal Financial Services which advanced 7.47%. Force Motors gained 5.68%, while Godfrey Phillips India climbed 5.38%. Nippon Life India Asset Management rose 4.98%, Adani Power added 3.16%, and Vishal Mega Mart gained 2.37%. Hyundai Motor India rose 0.22%.

The exchange had announced the inclusion of these stocks in its derivatives segment through a circular dated 30 March 2026. The move expands the F&O basket and aims to improve liquidity and trading opportunities across sectors.

Futures contracts in these securities will carry the same tick size as their underlying cash market stocks, while options contracts will have a tick size of Re 0.05, as part of efforts to deepen the derivatives market and broaden participation.
