Basic materials shares rise

Basic materials stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Commodities index rising 44.67 points or 0.71% at 6299.45 at 09:48 IST.


Among the components of the S&P BSE Commodities index, KIOCL Ltd (up 9.54%), Dhanuka Agritech Ltd (up 6.5%),Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (up 5.07%),Refex Industries Ltd (up 5%),Prism Johnson Ltd (up 4.61%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hindustan Copper Ltd (up 4.1%), NOCIL Ltd (up 3.38%), Dharmaj Crop Guard Ltd (up 3.35%), Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd (up 3.29%), and Ashapura Minechem Ltd (up 3.2%).

On the other hand, Lloyds Enterprises Ltd (down 2.42%), Bhageria Industries Ltd (down 2.25%), and Balaji Amines Ltd (down 1.58%) moved lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 225.35 or 0.32% at 69747.04.

The Nifty 50 index was up 74.6 points or 0.36% at 20975.75.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 218.34 points or 0.53% at 41506.29.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 51.17 points or 0.42% at 12300.01.

On BSE,2146 shares were trading in green, 847 were trading in red and 110 were unchanged.
