Utilties stocks edge lower

Utilties stocks were trading in red, with the BSE Utilities index decreasing 54.51 points or 1.01% at 5362.05 at 13:41 IST.


Among the components of the BSE Utilities index, JSW Energy Ltd (down 2.08%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd (down 1.98%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.96%),EMS Ltd (down 1.81%),CESC Ltd (down 1.38%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 1.37%), Adani Green Energy Ltd (down 1.13%), NLC India Ltd (down 1.09%), Inox Green Energy Services Ltd (down 0.76%), and Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd (down 0.69%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 1.39%), ACME Solar Holdings Ltd (up 0.95%), and NTPC Green Energy Ltd (up 0.82%) turned up.

At 13:41 IST, the BSE SmallCap was up 114.74 or 0.24% at 48308.2.

The BSE 150 MidCap Index index was up 56.97 points or 0.38% at 15016.88.

The Nifty 50 index was up 37.65 points or 0.15% at 24366.15.

The BSE Sensex index was up 199.81 points or 0.25% at 80418.18.

On BSE,1897 shares were trading in green, 1912 were trading in red and 159 were unchanged.
