Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index gains 2.06%

Nifty IT index closed up 2.06% at 39488 today. The index has gained 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Persistent Systems Ltd added 3.23%, Wipro Ltd jumped 3.11% and Infosys Ltd gained 3.11%. The Nifty IT index has fallen 10.00% over last one year compared to the 10.96% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index gained 1.41% and Nifty PSE index increased 1.09% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.79% to close at 26172.4 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.75% to close at 85567.48 today.
