Total premium income rises 14%, VNB up 8% in Q2FY2026


'HDFC Life Insurance Company, on consolidated basis, has recorded 3% increase in net profit to Rs 448.29 crore in the quarter ended September 2025 (Q2FY2026). The total premium income has increased 14% to Rs 19,287 crore in Q2FY2026, driven by 17% jump in the renewal premium collection to Rs 10,337 crore. The new business premium increased 11% to Rs 8,950 crore. APE moved up 9% to Rs 4,188 crore as individual APE increased 9% to Rs 3,694 crore in Q2FY2026.

The company has exhibited an improvement in the persistency level with 61st month persistency rising to 62% from 60%. 13th month persistency rising to 86% in Q2FY2026 from 88% in Q2FY2025, while

The value of new business (VNB) improved 8% to Rs 1,009 crore in Q2FY2026. New business margin for H1FY2026 stood at 24.50% showing decline on sequential basis from 25.10% for Q1FY26 and remained steady over a year ago from 24.60% in H1FY2025.
