Sales up 6%, net down 11%


'Standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Kennametal India for the quarter ended Jun 2024 has increased 5.98% to Rs 287.00 crore.  


Operating profit margin has declined from 15.77% to 14.15%, leading to 4.92% decline in operating profit to Rs 40.60 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 28.22% to 28.15%.   Purchase of finished goods cost fell from 26.51% to 25.13%.   Employee cost increased from 13.75% to 14.38%.   Other expenses rose from 16.00% to 18.27%.   

Other income up 45.45% to Rs 3.2 crore.  PBIDT fell 2.45% to Rs 43.8 crore.  Provision for interest remained nil.   PBDT fell 1.35% to Rs 43.8 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 3.64% to Rs 11.4 crore.    Profit before tax down 2.99% to Rs 32.40 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 10.2 crore, compared to Rs 8.5...
