Consolidated net up 57% on lower taxation


'Consolidated net sales (including other operating income) of NHPC for the quarter ended Mar 2025 has increased 24.38% to Rs 2346.97 crore.  Operating profit margin has declined from 70.91% to 48.74%, leading to 14.51% decline in operating profit to Rs 1,143.88 crore.  Employee cost decreased from 21.40% to 17.94%.   Other expenses rose from 17.57% to 35.60%.   Power and Oil fuel cost fell from 13.05% to 4.17%.   Other income fell 24.88% to Rs 325.44 crore.  PBIDT fell 17.05% to Rs 1469.32 crore.   PBDT rose 5.33% to Rs 1481.41 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 5.09% to Rs 314.74 crore.   Profit before tax grew 5.39% to Rs 1,166.67 crore.  Share of profit/loss was 97.04% lower at Rs 0.11 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 247.15 crore, compared to Rs 505.71 crore.  Effective tax rate was 21.18% compared to 45.53%.
