Sales down 16.14%, but PAT up 5.87% on improved margin


'For the quarter ending Sept 2023, standalone Net sales (including other operating income) of Steelcast has declined 16.14% to Rs 101.61 crore compared to quarter ended Sept 2022.  Operating profit margin has jumped from 23.35% to 28.26%, leading to 1.52% rise in operating profit to Rs 28.72 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 25.57% to 21.50%.   Employee cost increased from 8.17% to 10.51%.   Other expenses fell from 41.84% to 38.15%.   Stores consumed for sales fell from 13.52% to 12.30%.   Power and Oil fuel cost fell from 13.93% to 12.52%.   Other direct service cost fell from 9.57% to 9.55%.   

Other income fell 9.52% to Rs 0.57 crore.  PBIDT rose 1.28% to Rs 29.29 crore.  Provision for interest fell 86.96% to Rs 0.09 crore.  Loan funds remained nil.  Inventories declined from Rs 49.13 crore as o...
