Container Corporation Of India

Sales up 9%, net up 5%


'Standalone net sales (including other operating income) of Container Corporation Of India for the quarter ended Jun 2024  has increased 9.26% to Rs 2,097.07 crore.  Operating profit margin has jumped from 20.40% to 20.59%, leading to 10.29% rise in operating profit to Rs 431.88 crore.  Employee cost increased from 5.52% to 5.57%.   Other expenses fell from 74.08% to 73.84%.   Freight charges rose from 55.67% to 57.72%.   Other direct service cost fell from 15.88% to 13.70%.   Other income up 13.43% to Rs 92.41 crore.  PBIDT rose 10.83% to Rs 524.29 crore.  Provision for interest up 27.95% to Rs 18.08 crore.  PBDT rose 10.30% to Rs 506.21 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 19.73% to Rs 164.93 crore.  Profit before tax grew 6.25% to Rs 341.28 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 85.93 crore, compared to Rs 77.07 crore.  Effective tax rate was 25.18% co...
