AU Small Finance Bank

Expects credit cost at 75-85 bps for next two years


'AU Small Finance Bank conducted a conference call on 22 April 2025 to discuss its financial results for the quarter ended March 2025. Sanjay Agarwal, MD&CEO of the bank addressed the call:

Highlights:

The bank has recorded strong 27% growth in deposits and 20% growth in advances amid pressure in the unsecured lending. The loan growth was supported by the secured loan segment, which also aided the asset quality.

The growth of the unsecured loan book was mainly impacted due to microfinance segment which is now showing improving collection efficiency. Going forward, the microfinance growth would have some impact from MFIN guardrails. The company microfinance book is expected to return to normalcy in term of credit cost from Q3FY2026.

The credit card loan book has dipped 19% in FY25. However, the bank expects the cards book to become profitable in next 1-2 years and also contribute significantly to the fee income.
