Strong business growth


''Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has registered multifold increase in the net profit to Rs 15854.35 crore on consolidated basis in Q2FY2023 from Rs 1479.65 crore in Q2FY2022. The net premium collection has jumped 26% to Rs 132631.72 crore in Q2FY2023.

The benefits paid declined 2% to Rs 84702.59 crore, while the commission expenses rose 4% to Rs 5844.07 crore in Q2FY2023. PAT in the policyholders account increased 22% to Rs 15380.08 crore, while transfer to shareholders account jumped 119% to Rs 14925.72 crore.

Investment income in the shareholders account moved up 199% to Rs 189.16 crore in Q2FY2023. Total income in the shareholders account jumped 120% to Rs 15114.88 crore. The net profit increased 971% to Rs 15854.35 crore in Q2FY2023.

For H1FY2023, LIC registered an increase of 23.87% in the Total Premium Income at Rs 230456 crore as compared to Rs 186053 crore for H1FY2022 during the previous year. The Profit after Tax (PA...
