I thank you and welcome you all to this 27th Annual General Meeting.
In continuation of my earlier communication to you all, I am pleased to
inform you that steps initiated with regard to upgrading the quality of tea manufactured
by the tea estates of the Company have started yielding some positive results. Meanwhile
our domestic tea production capacity has also doubled with the recent acquisition of the
five tea estates in Assam.
We have also initiated the required steps for upgrading operations at
our tea estates for improving the yield as well as the production of quality teas with a
view to achieve better operational results.
Our twelve tea estates along with their
Factories are all located in Assam and they provide employment to about
12984 employees.
Our offshore expansion programme is on track and the increased
production of Macadamia, will enable us to achieve the distinction of being one of the
largest private producers globally.
Our contributions to the State Government for providing relief to the
local population is being continued.
