I am pleased to take this opportunity to share my thoughts and present
the 54th Annual Report of your Company for the financial year 2023/24. Voith continues to
be one of the leading suppliers to global paper industry and your Company is the only
Indian manufacturer having the capability to supply entire range of paper machine clothing
to paper manufacturers.
In January 2024, I together with other senior team members of Voith
Paper Division personally visited India and we were very happy to see the manner in which
operations are carried out in your
Company. Having consistently contributed to the growth of Voith Paper
Division in the region, and consequentially improving the overall profitability of the
Division at Group level, your Company has always remained in focus of Voith Group and its
performance in current fiscal would add to further strengthening the foundation for coming
years.
As a full line supplier, Voith delivers holistic solutions tailored to
the customer's need. We, as a trusted partner, take responsibility to ensure that as
few resources as possible are used in the paper production process. That is why we have
launched our sustainability program ‘Papermaking for Life'. Sustainability
encompasses responsible resource management, reducing environmental impact and promoting
social and economic equality. Sustainable practices aim to ensure a harmonious balance
between economic growth, environmental protection and social well-being, ultimately
contributing to a healthier planet and a better quality of life for all. The paper
industry is undergoing a remarkable transformation, adapting to the changing needs of the
customers and embracing sustainability. The paper industry has the potential to provide
environment friendly solutions for single use plastic. Paper can be recycled up to 6-7
times, making it one of the most recycled products in the world. In an era dominated by
digital technology, it is quite heartening to note that demand for paper is on the rise
worldwide, which is a good sign for future prospects.
Your Company is also committed to being a socially responsible citizen.
During the year, your Company had contributed towards welfare of society and discharged
its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligation by making contributions in the areas
of healthcare and empowering women to be self-reliant. The Company would continue to do
its bit in this area in future also, with all sincerity. I also take this opportunity to
express my deep appreciation to all the employees for their dedicated and disciplined
efforts in delivering such outstanding results. I wish that they continue to be an
inspiration for other operating units of Voith Group.
