Company History

Krypton Industries Ltd was incorporated as public limited company on April 6, 1990. In April 20, 1990, the company received the Certificate of Commencement of Business to carry on the business as manufacturers of MCP Tyres. Initially, the company was promoted by J P Toshniwal, M L Kankaria and C L Sarawgi in collaboration with Poly Air Tires Inc, Canada.

The company is in the business of manufacturing and sale of Tubeless Tyres and other products Footwear, in Falta Special Economic Zone and Banganagar (West Bengal). They operate in two segments: Tyre and Footwear. Their products include MCP tubeless tyres, polyurethane (PU) shoe soles and PU sandals. The company's subsidiaries include Eco wheels Pvt Ltd, Krypton Developers Ltd and Krypton Industries (Suzhou) Co Ltd.

The company set up a 100% export oriented unit at Falta Export Processing Zone in West Bengal for manufacture of MCP tubeless cycle tyres. In the year 1991, the company came out with its Maiden Public Issue. In the year 1992, the present promoters took over the control and management of the company. In February 1993, the company commenced commercial production.

In June 24, 2002, the company incorporated ECO Wheels Pvt Ltd as a subsidiary company, which commenced production on February 2004. In August 17, 2007, the company incorporated Krypton Industries (Suzhou) Company Ltd as a wholly owned subsidiary in China. In July 15, 2009, the company received ISO 9001: 2008 certification for manufacture and supply of polyurethane tyres and assembled wheels for use in bicycles.

The company, in year 2005-06, further expanded it Polyurethane (PU) processing capabilities by entering PU shoe sole and sandals manufacturing. It thereafter, entered the growing shoes and accessories market by launching sandals under its own brand name Softflex.

The company has approved the sale of wholly owned subsidiary, Krypton Industries (Suzhou) Company Ltd, to a suitable buyer on November 29, 2010. Subsequently, the company has entered into an equity transfer agreement dated December 01, 2010 with NV Vermeiren NV, a company duly organized and existing under the laws of Belgium, for selling their equity participation in Krypton Industries (Suzhou) Company Ltd for total purchase consideration of USD 3,05,000 subject to approval from relevant authorities in India & China.

In 2012-13, Eco Wheels Pvt. Ltd. (a subsidiary of the company), Barons Polymers Pvt. Ltd. and Krypton Tyres Limited got merged with the Company effective from March 19, 2013. As per the terms of the Scheme, the Company has issued 3086050 fully paid-up equity shares of Rs 10/ - each to the shareholders of Barons Polymers Pvt. Ltd. and Krypton Tyres Limited respectively.

The Company's Sadhurhat Division started the commercial production of its new unit from 01.12.2013. In 2019, the Company incorporated a Wholly Owned Subsidiary in the name, 'Krypton Europe S.R.O.', a limited liability Company in Czech Republic on 06th November, 2019.
